Event: On Saturday, Nov. 13, Discovery World was honored to host friends and supporters to celebrate its mission of inspiring STEM learning, curiosity, and career readiness for thousands of area children. Community influencers, business leaders, politicians and science advocates from throughout Wisconsin celebrated the evening by enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the exhibits, award-winning cuisine in The Pavilion courtesy of Bartolotta Catering & Events, and dancing and desserts in the Roger & Judy Smith Family Pilot House. A major highlight of the evening included the Milwaukee Academy of Science being awarded the inaugural Gary Grunau Award for Academic Excellence. The award was accepted by Anthony McHenry and Chris Layden.

Cause: Thanks to more than 500 generous attendees, donors, and sponsors, Discovery World raised funds to allow the organization to provide Summer Camp scholarships, educational programming to local schools, and access to science for families in communities that need it most.

Proceeds: The Discovery World Gala raised more than $500,000 through donations, sponsorships and ticket sales.
