For more than 50 years, Lakefront Festival of Art has been bringing art to life on Milwaukee’s lakefront. Started in 1963, this three-day fundraising event has evolved from a gathering of a handful of artists to a vibrant, exciting and wide-ranging festival with a wide array of art, food, music and activities for the whole family. The Ronald McDonald House Charities held its Third Annual Food and Families Spring Luncheon at the Milwaukee Country Club. Women gathered for sips, silent auction and a scrumptious lunch followed by a short program featuring a special guest family. MKE Lifestyle was there when the Milwaukee Ballet officially unveiled its new Baumgartner Center for Dance on Wednesday, Sept. 4 — officially proclaimed Milwaukee Ballet Day by Mayor Tom Barrett, who joined the festivities. The ceremony also featured speeches by the center's benefactors Don and Donna Baumgartner, County Executive Chris Abele, Milwaukee Ballet’s Board Chair/President Justin Mortara and longtime Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pink. Milwaukee Ballet opens its 50th season with Coppélia — the first full-length ballet the new corps performed back in 1970 — on Oct. 17.
EVENT: The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design hosted its Creative Fusion Gala at MIAD.
CAUSE: Proceeds raised benefited MIAD student scholarships.
PROCEEDS: Sponsorships, a scholarship bid, one-of-a-kind Buy It Now and live auctions raised $425,000.

The Museum of Wisconsin Art held its annual free, outdoor, fine arts and crafts festival featuring a juried selection of more than 65 fine artists selling their work, plus professional chalk artists from across the nation. Art activities for all ages were offered throughout the weekend along with live entertainment and music, food vendors, a beer garden, art raffle and free admission for the weekend to the museum.
More than 500 Greater Milwaukee-area businesses and community leaders celebrated the power of the arts with co-chairs Barri and Dave Drury and The Burke Family in an all-inclusive evening featuring live entertainment, arts experiences, cocktails, small plates, voice auctions and an after party filled with music, dancing, late-night food and more.

EVENT: KidShare hosted its annual Milwaukee’s Finest Culinary Event at the Pfister Hotel.
CAUSE: Proceeds raised benefited scholarships for the programs of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
PROCEEDS: More than $412,000 was raised through a silent auction and a raise-your-paddle auction.
